World Famous 'Nucleus Bong' Moving on to Chicago

World biggest Jerome Baker piece "Nucleus Bong" makes its move from Myxed Up Creations in Denver to the Made Gallery in Chicago.

As some of you might know, Jason Harris aka Jerome Baker had bestowed a gift upon Myxed Up Creations in Denver several months back.  This gift was called "Nucleus Bong", and to date it is the largest Jerome Baker piece in the world.  Nucleus Bong, aka "Bongzilla" was happy to call Myxed Up it's home for almost 6 months.  Over those 6 months, we had become great friends.  People from far and wide would come to gaze upon it in all of its green glowing majesty.  Some people who saw it knew about the history of the piece, and its cultural significance.  Some people who saw the piece, just saw a giant water pipe, and they wondered out loud how incredible it would even be to use this amazing piece of art.  Nevertheless, the piece had its impact, and we were so happy to have been a part of the story.  Nucleus Bong will now make its move from Denver, on to its new home in Chicago at the Made Gallery.  We were so excited to see Nucleus Bong arrive, and were equally as sad to see it go, but with every end is a new beginning.  We wish Nucleus Bong the best, and to the new handlers of "Bongzilla" at the Made Gallery in Chicago, we say, "Thanks so much, and enjoy the ride!", oh yes and also "Handle with care"!

Jerome Baker fans here in Denver might be sad to hear the news.  The good news is that we will have the new line of BakerBots available at all of our stores just in time for MyxedUp420 Weekend!

Jerome Baker Is The Man

The Jerome Baker in store event was great!  We truly appreciate Mr. Jason Harris for stopping by the store and spending time with everyone.  In town for Widespread Panic at Red Rocks, he took time out of his trip to make an appearance at Myxed Up Creations Denver location.  He got to meet a lot of fans, shake a lot of hands, and sign or engrave a number of pieces and posters.  Not only is Jerome Baker possibly the biggest name in, the somewhat brief history, of the functional glass as art movement.  He's also a great guy in general.  It was awesome watching his interaction with fans, telling stories about all his adventures in his life of blowing glass.  The man has been just about everywhere, and blown glass in the craziest of places.  From traveling around following the Grateful Dead and blowing glass on tour, to blowing glass with other legends in the industry, like Bob Snodgrass, when the movement was really first underway.  He's been flown all over the country and blown glass out of hotels, and he's been commissioned to create pieces for some of the biggest names in movies, music, and art.  Sure enough, his stories lived up to the billing of being one of the most recognized names in glass blowing.

We had the opportunity to talk to him about some of his other projects that he was a part of, or continues to be a part of.  He spoke with us about many endeavors like his Connoisseur Kulture (CK) Expo, an exclusive industry expo highlighting underground pop culture and products.  As well as a line of reusable art inspired water bottles, Binger Springs.  And not to mention Jerome Baker Decks, a skateboard deck, clothing and gear company that saw very mixed results.  Never the less, it goes with out saying, he keeps himself pretty busy, and very involved with the important happenings and people in the the industry.

Finally, with much anticipation, 4:20 rolled around, and it was time to do the drawing for the engraved JBD Scientific rigs!

Congratulations to the winners!  Thanks again to Jason Harris AKA Jerome Baker!  And a big thanks to everyone that came down to enjoy this unique opportunity to meet a true legend in the game!

Jerome Baker In Store Appearance This Saturday, June 29th, at Myxed Up Denver!

Myxed Up Creations is happy to welcome Jason Harris AKA Jerome Baker to our  Denver location, this Saturday, June 29th!

There is a lot of history in the Modern Glass Pipe Movement and Jerome Baker is synonymous with the ROOTS of this movement.

Always a big name in handmade, American glass waterpipes, Jerome Baker Designs is a pioneer in interplanetary glass works.  Jerome Baker Designs, Inc., began creative endeavors in the art of functional glass tubeware in 1991. Jerome Baker was the first to design a durable flame-worked glass waterpipe that was both functionally reliable and visually exquisite. This waterpipe, which changed color when you used it, was the catalyst, the seed from which flowered a family of smoking devices that evolved in quality, artistry, and ingenuity over the years.

The event this Saturday will include a meet-and-greet, as well as an opportunity to have NEW, UNUSED pieces engraved by the man himself, in person. For those unable to buy a new piece, Myxed Up will be providing posters to the first 200 people, for you to have signed.

The event will be from 1:00pm - 4:00pm.  Be sure to get there early to secure your poster, while supplies last.

We will also be having a raffle, in which you can win a signed Jerome Baker piece!

Come join up at the  Facebook event page  for further details and updates!
